Chatswood Chase Redevelopment Monitoring

Retail AnalyticsFoot Traffic Monitoring

Through a two-year redevelopment, Vicinity Centres needed uninterrupted foot traffic monitoring despite constant changes to layouts and access routes. Micromax maintained coverage while deploying nearly 70 new sensors in stages.

Chatswood Chase Redevelopment Monitoring

The Challenge

During the extensive two-year redevelopment of Chatswood Chase, the centre underwent a major transformation involving the demolition and reconstruction of four levels while continuing to operate from the lower ground floor.

Throughout the project, Vicinity Centres required uninterrupted foot traffic monitoring and reporting, despite significant changes to building layouts, entrances, and customer access routes.

Our Solution

Micromax worked closely with the Chatswood Chase management team, Vicinity Capital Delivery, Multiplex, Goldline and Comtext to maintain the existing foot traffic monitoring infrastructure while progressively deploying nearly 70 new sensors throughout the redevelopment.

As construction stages evolved, sensors were strategically relocated and reconfigured to ensure continued data accuracy and coverage across temporary and permanent access points.

The Outcome

The project delivered consistent and reliable foot traffic data throughout the redevelopment period, enabling Vicinity Centres to accurately measure visitor activity before, during and after construction works.

This continuity of data provided critical insights into customer behaviour and supported informed operational and investment decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

“The Micromax people counting solution at Chatswood Chase has delivered reliable, real-time data that supports improved understanding of customer flow and informs operational decision-making.”
