Sydney Fish Market Precinct Monitoring
Place Management NSW needed reliable data on how visitors enter and access the precinct around the new Sydney Fish Market. Micromax deployed seven camera systems to capture pedestrian and vehicle movement across key access points.

The Challenge
Place Management NSW required accurate and reliable data on pedestrian movements within the outdoor precinct surrounding the new Sydney Fish Market. Specifically, they needed to understand where visitors were entering the precinct and how they were accessing the site.
In addition, vehicle entry and exit volumes for the Sydney Fish Market car park needed to be monitored to provide a comprehensive view of visitor behaviour.
Our Solution
Working collaboratively with Place Management NSW, The Project Studio and JDL Electrical, Micromax supplied and deployed seven strategically positioned camera systems on existing infrastructure surrounding the new Sydney Fish Market precinct. These systems were configured to capture detailed pedestrian and vehicle movement data across key access points.
The Outcome
The solution provided Place Management NSW with valuable insights into visitor access patterns and behaviours. While it had been assumed that most visitors would arrive by car, the data revealed a more nuanced picture of how and when people accessed the precinct.
The accurate, evidence-based information enabled stakeholders to better understand utilisation of the asset and support future planning and operational decisions.
