The ALPHABOX has the ability to detect early mechanical failure in your engine by obtaining input signals from a crankshaft speed sensor and analysing the torsional vibrations. This early detection system can significantly reduce economic losses that arise from unexpected breakdowns. Any problems with the engine can be detected in advance, enabling a maintenance cycle to be performed and prevent mechanical breakdown. The ALPHABOX can also improve engine maintenance cycles and extend engine life, making it a cost-effective solution.

The ALPHABOX can be retrofitted to combustion engines and will provide a complete picture of the engine health - including the effects of the whole power train. It only requires a single speed sensor to obtain the general engine health status. However, for a more detailed cylinder-specific health analysis, two speed sensors are used with one placed in the crankshaft and another on the camshaft. The built in webserver means configuration is made simple with no additional software installation on a PC required - only a standard web browser is needed.
